Last night I made my first New Year's Resolution; actually though this is atypical of me and good judgment my best friend and I made resolutions for each other. For her: to sleep more and work less. My turn offs are people who say something is only for brainy people and don't want to at least have a passing understanding of something, people who think I should read their poetry. I've never been very good at describing myself, but here goes. Well where should I begin. I am a full time mother of a three month old little girl, she is my world and everything that I do is because of her. I am currently enrolled in a Medical Billing and Coding program that I am going to be starting in march. I love to be around people, which some find weird because most of the time I am super quiet.

I spend a lot of time reading and writing. Writing is my passion in life but it is a hard one to find a job in. Hopefully one day I will be able to find my dream job where I can write to my hearts content.

OK, welcome back (maybe)! I'm guessing that picture does a better job of filtering women than the search engine here. Fine by me, of course... if they're too serious to laugh at or appreciate the joke, then I don't want them anyway. As you can probably tell, I don't much care what people think of me. I spent too much time trying to make the right impression and act the right way, but all I found down that road was stress and misery.

I'm just a simple guy who sees the world as it is, trying to fit in with a society that loves being lied to, yet which demands honesty and transparency. I'm extremely loyal and slow to anger, but very defensive of those I care about. I'm a bit goofy, being willing to make a fool of myself for laughs. But you already know that, right? I grew up watching Nickelodeon, and a lot of that silliness (from You Can't Do That On Television to Ren & Stimpy or Rocko's Modern Life) stayed with me. My sense of humor nowadays tends to favor sarcasm and satire or irony.

I love learning about how things work, so I've always been fond of the sciences. I love the Science Channel as well as History and Discovery. I've been considering getting back on stage, though I haven't acted since high school. But hey, nobody expects much from community theater, right? I also consider myself an amateur astronomer and can point out certain stars, nebulae, galaxies and constellations.

I'm quite happy playing pool, going bowling, camping in the mountains, visiting the beach, going shooting, driving around aimlessly, or just kicking back at a friends place to listen to music and BS all night. I'm usually up for just about anything, though I do have a near-debilitating fear of heights. If I can't safely jump down, I need at last a chest-high fence to be comfortable. It's kinda weird, but I always feel as though I'm about to be pushed. If you believe in past lives, perhaps I died from a fall once before? Who knows, but it should go without saying: I will never step out onto that glass platform over the Grand Canyon. I shiver even now just at the thought.

So let's see, what else should I say about myself? Oh! If you're interested in politics and whatnot, I consider myself an extreme Libertarian. Not an anarchist, don't worry. Some government is good, just not much. I say "extreme" because most Libertarians don't extend their concept of freedom as far as they should. I could go on for a while about it, but I'd rather save that for conversation later.

Hey my names Derek and I'm just trying to see if there is anyone out there who I click with. I was in the army for 5 years (on a 4 year contract, stupid stop-loss). I was tired of being property, oh and people trying to kill me so I got out. I loved being a Tanker but wasen't so fond of my employer.

I enjoy a good book and inteligent converstion. I gots a big brain on me so you should be at least able to spell your own name, but you education level isen't important. I love the outdoors seeing and doing new things. I've been sky diving twice, and it's so much better the second time. I also enjoy mountain biking but don't get to go as much as I like.

I'm a happy healthy guy, who drinks on occasion is trying despretly to quit smoking (and doing well at it). While I have ahh... smoked other things from time to time, I'm not really a fan. If that's your thing thats cool But It somtimes has the opposite effect as usuall for me, as in pain and elevated heart rate.

I would like to point out that I'm an Atheist. It's not much of an issue for me if you're not but please don't contact me with attempts to "save me".

I'm a bit socially akward so sometimes I'm introverted yet I like meeting new people so i'm occasionlly extroverted. I'm actually a pretty good mix of type A and type B personalities. But a big part of me is still a classic city boy that generally wants to look nice, take a girl out, open doors and treat her right, and enjoy some sophistication from time to time. I believe that chivalry is not dead, it's just under practiced.
