Chapman Hill Elementary School Reviews

I am very conconcerned about both the new math program which seems ponderous and confusing. I suspect the teachers do not adequately understand the program and are not spending enough time with students to ensure basic understanding. I think parental involvement is necessary and important. My wife regularly volunteers at the school and we both assist with our child's homework. But, I do feel that the quantity of homework is excessive. For example, the recent Salem history workbook assignment was unrealistic in the amount of effort required on parent & child. Again, my impression is that this is replacing in-class work. We are considering moving our child to a private school, which saddens me.

Chapman Hill had a great community of teachers and parents, but has suffered greatly this academic year under an incompetent principal that has allowed divisiveness and less than professional behavior among the teachers.
